Albert Street Church
The Albert Street congregation sits in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD at 319 Albert St Brisbane and is the spiritual home of Wesley Mission Brisbane. Since its first acts of compassion and kindness in the 1847, the Albert Street Church congregation has had a vital presence in Brisbane, particularly among those who have found themselves in need or on the margins of society.
Celebrating compassion, peace, love, the Albert Street Church and the wider Wesley Mission.
As it has done for more than 165 years, the congregation endeavours to express the 'Good News' through its worship, witness and service that God continues to transform the world, bringing healing and justice for all people. The church is committed to being a welcoming community of Christ: building faith, compassionately serving in mission with faithfulness, integrity and openness.
Since its inception the church has been responding to the needs within Brisbane. The Servant Network was created in 2004 to provide practical support for people experiencing homelessness and isolation. The two main programs to have come from this initiative are Art from the Margins and the Community Meal.
The church is open Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 2.00pm for prayer and reflection, and is also a popular venue for local and international weddings.
